Kaleidoscope Periwinkle & Me

Kaleidoscope of sun rays – Drew picasa prisms
Over the cherry leaves – As the fell
The pleasant morning breeze – played with my tiny hair strands
And made my mind sail.

I woke up with an eerie lingering happiness
Which left my lonely heart feeling gay
As though I didn’t want to remember
But my neurons, still reminded me
That it was my BIRTHDAY.

I got ready and silently prayed-As passively as possible
Nothing changed barring the date
It was just another day – nothing memorable.

No single birthday wish came across my way
Not a single flower
Not a single Best wish note hidden anywhere
Nobody knew it was my Birthday.

Apart from the diary From my long lost mother
Nobody cared for my Birthday
I am an orphan child born someday somewhere
In the unknown cradle of nature.

I wanted to remain logical without any say
And get over with the time in a nonchalant way
But some where deep down, I still was disturbed
As though I knew everything, I still wanted
To feel “Wanted” and – especially on my very own DAY.

Just as the average human being
With average human sentiments
I was deserved to be happy
Just as anybody else

Outside my dull gloomy residence
Life moved on with all its veracity
But inside the dark dismal walls of the monarchy
Time ticked plainly, with the coldness of survival
As the overwhelming truth, nothing more nothing less!!

Lost in the Camaraderie of thoughts and delusion
I might have dozed off in the afternoon
But I was woke up by the soft gleaming bright silver Moon
Cascading happily over the horizon.

The golden glow filled my soul with a touch of serenity
To my wonder I found a PERIWINKLE
Entered my window pane
Flashing a lovely purple smile

I was rapt fascinated enthralled in bewilderment
The moment I realizedIt was my gift from Eternity

I looked up at the ink blue sky lit with thousand stars
As if thousand of tiny candles Singing my Birthday choir.

I jumped up on my bed Infinite happiness feeling me all over
It was my Birthday, and though a lonely child
That moment ensured me that, I was indeed special
If not to anybody else – I was special
Very special to my loving Mother Nature.
